Principal's Message

MESSAGE FROM THE
Principal / Executive Director

Happy New Year!!!

We have entered into the second phase of our academic school year. Here, at EOCCS, our objective continues to consist of an intense commitment for high-quality education for all of our students, as we strive for excellence.

Over the years former EOCCS' students have returned to let us know about their achievements and accomplishments. Most recently, a former EOCCS student -- that is now in 5th grade shared her Report Card with me. I am proud to say that she had A's and B's (indicating her performance at 79% - 94%). It is re-assuring to know that our students are applying their talents and the quality education that they received at EOCCS at their new schools. It makes me proud to know, that in spite of the continuous obstacles we face, (funding, finding affordable space, etc.) that we at EOCCS are meeting our mission - "to educate the whole child."

In December 2011, the NJ Department of Education conducted an on-site review of EOCCS as part of our 5-year Charter Renewal process. The review went well. We are looking forward to their final response within the next several weeks.

The students and staff are getting prepared for our Black History Celebration next month. More details will be sent soon. In addition, the students are also preparing for the various state-wide testing activities that will be conducted within the next couple of months.

To date, the journey of searching for another facility that is affordable continues to be an on-going task. We are determined to secure a location that is affordable and conducive to providing an educational and safe environment for our students.

As always, I appreciate the parent participation in our school-wide programs and classroom activities. Your support helps the children through their learning process and also provides encouragement to our staff.

Thank you!
